Jeep Compass Trailhawk spotted testing in India!

Jeep Compass Trailhawk is slated to launch in early 2019. Ahead of its launch, the top-end variant of Compass has been spotted testing on Indian roads. The launch was earlier going to happen in December 2018.

Jeep Compass Trailhawk is a more hardcore version of the regular Compass. It gets a better off-roading equipment, revised bumpers, a higher ground clearance and better departure angles. However, the launch of Trailhawk is delayed for a very long time now. The bookings started way in March 2018. Now, here are fresh spy pictures of the SUV. 3 Trailhawks are spotted with moderate camouflage, mainly covering the bumpers. Trailhawk will now be the top-end trim of the Compass lineup.

Visual upgrades will include dual-tone alloy wheels from the Compass Limited Plus, skid plate, anti-glare bonnet decal, blacked out roof and recovery hooks.

Reports say that Jeep Compass Trailhawk will only come in diesel variant. So, it will get the 2.0 Litre Multijet diesel engine that puts out 170 BHP and 350 Nm of peak torque. Also, we see here is the debut of diesel-auto combination. The Multijet engine will pair up with a 9-speed automatic transmission as standard.

Rumours say that the launch was delayed because it might come with BS-VI engines. As of now, a handful of cars only offer BS-VI engines. The norms come into effect starting April 2020.

The features list of Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be almost the same as that of the Limited Plus trim. So, it will come with the panoramic sunroof, cruise control, 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a couple of more premium features.

The Compass Limited Plus variant is priced at Rs 22.85 Lakhs. Since the Trailhawk gets a better off-roading equipment, we expect the prices to be up by Rs 2 Lakhs from the top-end trim. The Compass range starts from Rs 15.35 Lakhs going up to Rs 22.85 Lakhs. It competes with the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Mahindra XUV 500.
