25 per cent customers of the new Maruti Dzire chose the top-end variants. At the same time, almost 20 per cent went for the automatic variants.
The current generation Maruti Dzire has managed to clock the fastest 3 lakh sales milestone in India. Launched in May 2017, Maruti’s compact sedan achieved this feat in a matter of just 17 months.
According to the statistics shared by Maruti Dzire (Read More), 20 per cent of the Dzire’s customer went for the automatic variants. Meanwhile, a sizable chunk of 25 per cent opted for the top-end variants. Furthermore, the current generation of this compact sedan has a 28 per cent higher sales than the previous iteration.
The current generation Maruti Dzire is effectively this sedan’s third generation iteration. Launched last year. it came across as a huge update over the previous generation model across all the parameters.

Based on the new Swift, the Dzire looks quite premium and better proportioned than before. It uses Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform which has made this compact sedan significantly lighter than before. Not only this, the new structure promises to offer better safety due to a stiffer shell.
With Maruti using the same engine line-up as before, the lightweight construction has helped in increasing the new Dzire’s mileage figures. The petrol derivatives promise to offer 22 km/l. While the diesel derivatives go for 28 km/l.

Another significant upgrade in the new iteration of this vehicle over the previous one is a sizable increase in its equipment list. Top-end variants now feature LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail-lamps, touchscreen infotainment system, rear parking camera among other features.
The new Maruti Dzire scores quite decent when it comes to its safety kit. As standard, it comes with dual-front airbags, Anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

As mentioned before, the Dzire comes with the same engine specifications as before. The petrol derivative comes with a 1.2-litre VVT unit. This engine produces 82 BHp along with 114 Nm of peak torque. While the diesel derivatives come with a 1.3-litre unit. This engine is capable of producing 74 BHP along with 190 Nm of peak torque.
The Dzire, as standard, comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, across three variants, it is also available with an AMT gearbox. This is for both petrol as well as diesel derivatives. This is yet another important factor in the success recipe of the Dzire.

Prices for the new Maruti Dzire start from INR 5.6 lakhs. The top-end variant retails at INR 9.45 lakhs. Competition includes Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor and Volkswagen Ameo.
