Skoda Superb Sportline variant launched in India

Skoda Superb Sportline has been launched in India. The mid-spec trim gets some sporty visual upgrades. It does not get the global-spec RS engine. The Sportline comes in both petrol and diesel options. 

Skoda Superb Sportline variant has been launched in India. It is basically based on the mid-spec trim and gets some sporty cosmetic changes. Other than that, it gets the same features as on the Superb. The Sportline just sits below the top-spec Laurin and Klement variant. The range of Skoda superb starts from Rs 25.59 Lakhs going up to Rs 32.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices). The Superb Sportline comes at a price tag of Rs 28.99 Lakhs for petrol automatic and Rs 31.49 Lakhs for the diesel automatic variant.

The Skoda Superb Sportline comes in three colour options – Moon White Metallic, Velvet Red Metallic, and Steel Grey Uni. Along with this, it also gets glossy black highlights on the roof, side skirts, rear spoiler, front grille, and wing mirrors.

More changes include a new set of alloy wheels with black and grey finish and blacked out fog lamps and headlamps.

Inside the cabin, the Skoda Superb Sportline gets an all-black cabin with red highlights on the dashboard, new sporty seats with Alcantara Inserts, LED ambient lighting and aluminium pedals.

The Skoda Superb Sportline continues with the same 1.8 Litre TSI petrol and 2.0 TDI diesel engines. The Petrol automatic produces a lower torque figure of 250 Nm. The diesel one gives out 174 HP and 350 Nm of torque.

Since Sportline comes only in Automatic variants, it gets a 7-speed DSG for the petrol unit and a 6-speed DSG for the diesel one. The claimed mileage of diesel variant is 18 kmpl and that of petrol one is 13 kmpl.

Safety features list of the Sportline is same as on the Laurin and Klement. The mid-spec variant gets front and rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, Hill Assist Control, Electronic Differential Lock, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist and ESC. The Sportline also gets total of 6 airbags.

The Skoda Superb goes against the likes of Honda Accord Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid and Volkswagen Passat. Superb is the cheapest one in its segment and the only one to offer both petrol and diesel engines.
