As per latest reports, 2018 Maruti Ertiga will get a sportier six-seater variant which will exclusively retail through Nexa showrooms. The launch might happen sometime in mid-2019.
2018 Maruti Ertiga has just been introduced in the Indian market. It gets a whole new design makeover with a new petrol engine and host of feature additions. Now, it comes in petrol and diesel variant, with CNG variant scheduled to launch a bit later.
Now, Gaadiwaadi reports that the new Ertiga will soon get a sportier 6-seater variant in the lineup. It will look different from the regular Ertiga and will host a variety of sporty design highlights. Moreover, this sporty version will be sold exclusively through Nexa Dealerships.
As per the reports, 2018 Maruti Ertiga in its sportier avatar will get a 2+2+2 seating configuration. Currently, it comes with the traditional benches for the 2nd and the 3rd row. Instead of that, the sporty version will get individual captain seats.

Reports suggest that it may draw some influence from the Ertiga Sport Concept, which Suzuki showcased at the GIIAS 2018. The showcased Concept received many visual upgrades, distinguishing itself from the current Ertiga.
Other visual enhancements will include a new body skit, rear spoiler, new set of alloy wheels, side skirts, body graphics and decals and contrasting colour options. The changes will most likely be just visual, putting this sporty version as the top-end variant of Ertiga lineup.
Mechanically, 2018 Maruti Ertiga Sport Version will continue with the same 1.5 Litre K15B SHVS petrol engine. The newly developed engine produces 104 BHP and 138 Nm of peak torque.

For transmission purposes, the MPV uses a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard on both the engines. Petrol engine comes with the option of an automatic unit. The CNG variant is yet to come on the new engine, which will also get a manual gearbox.
Since it will be based on the top-end variant, expect the Sports version to offer Rear AC vents, Remote keyless entry, Steering-mounted audio controls, Automatic climate control, Push button start/stop and SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and navigation.
Safety features onboard will include Dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Rear parking sensors and Rear parking camera.

Prices of Maruti Ertiga start off at Rs 7.44 Lakhs going to Rs 9.95 Lakhs for the petrol variants. The diesel variants start from Rs 8.84 Lakhs up to Rs 10.90 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
