Finally, Jawa has been introduced in India. Here it is in full glory with the retro looks and clear memories. It does not debut as the old two-stroke bike with the distinctive exhaust. However, it looks like the old Jawa with some modern touches and a new engine. The exhaust sound is distinctive but not much different from the old one. Total 3 motorcycles have been launched, which include – Jawa, Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak. Type 42 is a modern version of new Jawa and Perak is a factory-custom Bobber motorcycle.

1. Launch Date
3 Jawa Motorcycles were launched on 15th November. After much teasing and spying, the bikes are now available across all dealerships of Jawa.
So, Anand Mahindra had tweeted once about the imminent resurrection of the Jawa. Sometime after that, when a fellow Twitter user asked Mahindra about the Jawa, he replied that it is coming this year.
2. Price
Jawa comes in 2 variant – Jawa 42 and Jawa. The prices start off at Rs 1.55 Lakhs. It is squarely aimed at the Classic 350. At this price, it stays in a similar price range.

3. Design
Jawa 300 looks just like the old Jawa and we thank Classic Legends for that. The classic roadster maintains its retro looks with the round headlamps, heavy chrome highlights, traditional maroon colour, flat tan seat and the analogue speedometer. Other design highlights include spoke wheels, bulbous fuel tank with ‘Jawa’ inscription and twin-pea shooter exhaust.
4. Engine Specifications
Powering the Jawa 300 is a 293cc liquid-cooled engine that puts out 27 BHP and 28 Nm of peak torque. The engine pairs up with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine features a flat torque curve, which delivers generous torque in mid-range.
5. Top Speed, Mileage and Weight
The top-speed expected of the Jawa 300 is around 120 km/hr. The figure will be similar to that of Classic 350. The mileage estimated of the bike is around 37kmpl. Lastly, like the RE bikes, the Jawa is also heavy. It weighs 170 kgs with a full tank, nearing RE Classic 350.
