The Lexus CT 200h hybrid hatch range has been simplified with new trim levels, with prices starting from £25,150

The Lexus CT 200h has been refreshed with a revised trim level range. It follows the system recently applied to other models in the Lexus range, and reduces the number of models offered from four to three.

The old SE, Luxury, F Sport, and Premier models have been replaced by trim levels called CT, CT F Sport and CT Takumi. The standard CT is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, satellite navigation displayed through a seven-inch screen, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors.

All CT’s are well stocked for safety kit with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and a pre-collision system standard throughout the range.

The F Sport, as the name suggests, adds some sporty styling upgrades: it features a black mesh front grille, black door mirror housings, rear privacy glass and a different set of 17-inch wheels riding on a firmer suspension set-up. Inside, the F Sport adds aluminium pedals, a sports steering wheel and heated front seats trimmed in ‘Tahara’ synthetic leather upholstery.

The top-spec Takumi gains the fanciest extras of the three. Above the CT’s trim, it adds LED headlights, front parking sensors, a sunroof, an uprated navigation system with a 10-inch screen, and a 13-speaker Mark Levinson sound system.

CT and F Sport trim levels are offered with a selection of option packs to let users personalise their cars. The £500 Sport pack adds a black finish to the alloy wheels, front grille and door mirror covers, and Tahara upholstery inside; while the Premium model upgrades the CT with keyless entry, front parking sensors, privacy glass, heated front seats and Tahara seats.

The Tech pack is available on both CT and F Sport trim levels. It adds the 10-inch navigation screen and self-levelling LED headlights with washers for £1,000. The F Sport-exclusive Takumi pack adds LED headlights, the uprated infotainment screen, Mark Levinson hi-fi, sunroof, electric front seats trimmed in leather, and special ‘Naguri’ trim inlays.

Under the skin, the CT 200h remains the same. That means it rides on the same platform (and uses the same hybrid system) as the previous-generation Toyota Prius. The combination of 1.8-litre petrol and electric motor produces 134bhp and returns a combined 64.2mpg and 101g/km of CO2.

Prices for the revised CT range start from £25,150. The F Sport costs £2,000 more, while the Takumi costs £31,250.
