For the Alturas, in addition to changing the name, the homegrown automaker has given Mahindra styling cues as well.

The move to sell the next-generation Rexton in India as a Mahindra product is due to the low sales of the previous generation Rexton.

SsangYong as a brand was not able to gain popularity in the Indian market.

With the Mahindra Badging and a new name, the Alturas hence has a better chance of performing in the Indian market.
