The popular Suzuki Hayabusa will no longer be produced after December 31st. It does not meet the Euro-4 emission norms and safety regulations as well. The bike has been in production for the last 20 years.
You might remember Suzuki Hayabusa from many movies in India. It did a role in Dhoom movie, because of which Suzuki performance bikes gained a lot of attention. However, the same bike will no longer be produced after the end of this year.
Hayabusa was first introduced globally in October 1998 and the productions have been going on since 1999. It was the very first motorcycle to cross 320 km/hr barrier at that time. It is one of the most popular litre-class bikes globally.
Suzuki Hayabusa has not changed much over 20 years. It follows the same falcon-like aerodynamic design with the same bodywork and styling. Even the decals have been the same over the years.

It received its last update in 2008 and has been the same since that time. As per the Euro-4 regulations, the engine does not meet the specified limit. Although the regulations came into effect in 2016, automakers were given a grace period of 2 years to sell off all the stocks of the discontinued models.
After 31st December 2018, Suzuki and its dealerships are not allowed to sell Hayabusa. In the States, Suzuki will keep it on sale till the stocks are over. For the US markets, the timeline is not mentioned.
In the Indian market, its sale might continue until the upcoming BS-6 regulations in 2020. Since it is a CKD model, the bike will be sold still stocks last.
