Kia SP Concept will be launching around April next year. As per reports, the ex-showroom prices of the SUV will be between Rs 10-16 Lakhs. It will be priced nearly to Hyundai Creta.
As we all know, Kia Motors has confirmed that SP Concept SUV will be the first model in the Indian market. The launch timeline is expected to be around April 2019. After this SUV, Kia will launch a new model every 6 months.
Kia Motors has confirmed to Autocar that the prices of Kia SP Concept will start off at around Rs 10 Lakhs, going up to Rs 16 Lakhs. These will be the ex-showroom prices.
At this price, it actually comes in line with Hyundai Creta. The prices of Creta start off at Rs 10 Lakhs up to Rs 15.10 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices). Other competitors in this range include Nissan Kicks and Mahindra Scorpio.

Kia plans to make this SUV positioned as a premium product. Reports say that it might provide many features right from the base variant. So, if seen, the base variants might compete with Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano.
Recently, Kia SP Concept was spotted in full production form, testing on the Indian roads. Based on the spy photos, we say that the production form looks very similar to the showcased concept.
The spy photo also suggests that SP Concept might be a bit bigger than Creta. Expect the SUV to come with projector headlamps, LED lighting and LED tail lamps as well. Its interiors would be plush and upmarket combined with a lot of premium features onboard.

Safety features onboard will include dual airbags, EBD, ABS, rear parking sensors and Electronic Stability Program as standard fitments. The top-end variants might come with more airbags and a rear parking camera.
SP Concept is based on the platform of Hyundai Creta and will also borrow Creta’s engine. However, some reports suggested that Hyundai plans to introduce a new 1.5 Litre petrol engine, which is BS-6 compliant. This engine will make its way in Kia SP Concept and also, other Hyundai vehicles.
The production for the SUV will begin in January 2019 at its new factory in Andhra Pradesh. After SP Concept, it plans to introduce more models which include Rio Sedan, Sportage, Grand Carnival MPV, Stinger and Optima.

Kia Motors has ruled out production of compact cars in India for the time being. It plans to focus on premium products and wants to fill in the important premium segments. So Kia Rio and Picanto as of now, are not coming to India soon.
