The first batch of deliveries of Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 has begun. The first bike has been delivered in Hyderabad. In the meanwhile, deliveries for Interceptor 650 have also begun.
Royal Enfield 650 Twins were launched in India in late November. By that time, the bookings for the bikes had already increased. The waiting period as of now is around 3-4 months.
Meanwhile, deliveries for Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 have begun. The first batch is out and the first GT 650 has been delivered in Hyderabad. Youtuber ‘Biker Prakash Choudhary’ has put the video of his friend taking the delivery.
The owner has opted the Ice Queen Paint colour option for the Continental GT 650. He booked the bike on 16th November and has now received the bike. Ice Queen variant is priced at Rs 2.72 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is a neo-cafe racer. It retains the retro feeling of a cafe racer with modern touches and latest features. RE has tried to make it as premium and retro as possible, in which they have succeeded.
Design highlights that maintain the retro look include the round headlamps, twin-pod analogue cluster, twin pea-shooter exhausts and of course, oodles of chrome inputs over the body.
GT 650 gets power from a newly developed 648cc parallel twin-cylinder engine. The engine produces 47 BHP of power and 52 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper-clutch assist.

For suspension, the cafe racer uses conventional telescopic forks at the front and gas-charged twin shock absorbers at the back. Braking is handled with the help of front and rear disc brakes with a dual-channel ABS setup as standard fitment.
Along with Continental GT 650, the first Interceptor 650 has also been delivered. The first delivery has taken place in Nerul, Navi Mumbai.
Interceptor 650 is a Classic Modern roadster. Just like the GT 650, Interceptor too maintains its retro looks with few modern touches. It looks very similar to the original Interceptor of the 70s.
The prices of Interceptor 650 start off at Rs 2.50 Lakhs up to Rs 2.70 Lakhs for STD, Custom and Chrome Variants. Continental GT 650 is priced starting at Rs 2.65 Lakhs up to Rs 2.85 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom) for the same set of variants.

As of now, the RE 650 Twins receive no competition. In its price range, there are no cafe racers or Roadster bikes. The nearest in terms to engine specifications is the Harley Davidson Street 750.
