Ginetta’s road-car division has a new project with an all-new 600bhp-plus, carbonfibre-bodied supercar

Ginetta supercar teaser

Ginetta has announced it will build an all-new supercar. Due to be revealed later this year, the machine will have a carbon fibre tub chassis, a full carbon fibre body, a 600bhp-plus all-aluminium V8 engine (designed and built in-house), a sequential gearbox and functional aerodynamics.

This new supercar is Ginetta’s latest attempt at a new road car since it released the G40R in 2010. For the last 60 years, the company has focused on building its reputation as a manufacturer of formidable racing cars, with models such as the Jaguar E-Type-baiting 1965 Ginetta G10.

Ginetta remains successful in motorsport to this day, with its G55 GT4 car claiming first place last year in both the TA3 and TA4 American Road Racing Championships. Ginetta says it has applied the knowledge and technology from its racing programme to this high-tech supercar project.

Pricing and full specifications for Ginetta’s new supercar are yet to be announced, as is its name. Ginetta has also revealed little about its design, providing only these shadowy teaser shots for reference.

We expect the prototype supercar will be front-engined and rear-wheel-drive, due to the teased model’s long nose and short tail. Other identifiable features include a vented bonnet, a carbon fibre roof, a large diffuser and a huge rear wing.
