A new Mazda MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition will be unveiled at the 2019 Chicago Motor Show. The new model will follow in the footsteps of the original MX-5, which also made its public debut in Chicago back in 1989.
Since its conception, the MX-5 has sold more than one million units worldwide, 350,000 of which have found European homes, making it the most popular roadster in history.

Little information on the new Mazda MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition has been released, with prices and specifications due to follow in the wake of the car’s release.
The grainy, over-exposed photo provided by Mazda also reveals little about its design, other than confirming that red will be a likely colour choice and that a hardtop variant could be available.
If this new model adheres to the formula set by previous special edition MX-5s, expect a shiny new paint-job, a fresh set of alloys and a re-upholstered interior, along with the ubiquitous series of numbered plaques. We’ll update you with more information as soon as it’s available.
