Nissan has teased an image for its new IMQ concept. The preview image shows a car which, Nissan says, gives us a sneak peak at what might be on our driveways in the years to come - perhaps hinting towards future crossover models - when it makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
It’s tricky to gain a clear idea of the looks of the upcoming concept from the overly-dramatic sketch. However, it’s plain to see that heavily contoured flanks will feature on a tall body which stays true to the typical compact SUV silhouette.

Looking more closely at the details, the concept will feature a contrasting roof finish and widely flared wheel arches. The rear three-quarter view of the sketch shows a slim set of tail lights which, in outline at least, look similar to the current Qashqai crossover.
The IMQ follows on from the IMs concept shown at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Like that car, it’ll be likely that the IMQ will feature an electric drivetrain - in the case of the IMs this consisted of a twin-motor set-up with 483bhp. The tall crossover body should allow for plenty of space for batteries beneath the passenger compartment floor.
Nissan says that the IMQ “embodies the future of Nissan Intelligent Mobility.” In other words, we can expect the concept to showcase the brand’s upcoming autonomous tech.
