Mahindra XUV400 Codenamed S204 Spied Testing In India

Mahindra XUV400 is expected to reach Indian markets by 2022. Before that, an all-electric XUV300 will be launched and the driving range for the same is confirmed at 300 km.

Earlier we told you that homegrown carmaker, Mahindra, will bring out a 7-seater SUV. That said, the same has been spied in India for the first time, Mahindra XUV400 also codenamed as S204.

India bound Mahindra S204 or XUV400 (if that is the name the country will follow) will be styled like its sibling, XUV300. The car, in particular, was spotted in Chennai and will be the Indian version of the Ssangyong XLV.

The XLV styled wing mirrors, rear quarter glass is a bit of what’s borrowed from the SUV. Rest assured, the S204 will keep the Mahindra signature grille, slim air dams, shark fin antenna and an agile tailgate to make its own identity. The rear profile is new along with the license plate which is now moved at the tailgate.

The features inside will be similar like the XUV300

There is not much information about the powertrain of the upcoming SUV but it will surely get both petrol and diesel engines. The 1.5L oil burner produces 115 hp and 250 Nm of peak torque.

There are also reports that the S204 will also come with a turbo T-GDI engine which will also be housed in the Mahindra Marazzo. Mind you, the diesel engine will be on the fleet of the manufacturer and most sales are accounted from diesel vehicles only.
