The next-gen 2020 Honda Jazz will sit on a new platform which also underpins the next-gen Honda City and will come with new range of engines as well.
Honda has announced that the 2020 forth generation Jazz would be unveiled globally at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show which is scheduled to happen next month. The 2019 Tokyo Motor Show will open doors on October 23, 2019. The Honda Jazz is sold as the ‘Honda Fit’ in Japan and some other international markets.
We have have seen several spy shots of the Honda Jazz road-testing over time. The new model has been completely revamped and it will get fresh new styling both on the inside and the outside. The new Jazz will also sit on tweaked underpinnings and will get a brand new range of power train options as well.
In terms of styling, the new 2020 Jazz gets a much more rounded look. The sharp lines and flat surfaces that the Jazz has always been characterized with will be rounded off. It will come with larger headlamps and a more squared off front bumper. There will be prominent black inserts on the bumpers with a honeycomb mesh design for the fog-lamp inserts and air dam. The glasshouse will also be more rounded with a small quarter glass just after the rear door. At the rear, the new Jazz will get horizontally placed wrap around LED tail lamps.

Honda has announced that the new 2020 Jazz will come with a new and compact version of its twin-motor hybrid setup which will be mated to either a 1.2-liter or a 1.5-liter petrol engine. There will also be a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine available in some markets for the new Jazz. For India, Honda is expected to offer the 1.0-liter turbo petrol and 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engines on the next-gen Jazz.

The next-gen Jazz is expected to be 3,990mm in length, which means its still a sub-4m car and will qualify for the tax benefits sub-4m cars enjoy it India. However, in an effort to make more room inside the cabin and the boot, Honda has increased the width of the car. In fact, the next-gen Jazz will share its underpinnings with the next-gen Honda City which by the way is expected to have its global unveil by November and will arrive on Indian shores by the second half of 2020.
