Ather Energy has now commenced the deliveries of 450 Electric scooter in Chennai. Nearly 100 scooters will be delivered in its first week of commencement.
After its successful stint in Bengaluru, Ather recently expanded its operations to Chennai. Now, the deliveries of Ather 450 have commenced in India and about 100 scooters will be delivered before this weekends.
The pre-orders for the scooter opened up in early July and till December, the Ather 450 is sold out in Chennai. If you book the scooter currently, you will get it in your hand by February-March 2020. The test rides are running successfully.

These are the places where the public charging grids of Ather have been installed. As of now, there are 10 charging stations which are set to increase in the coming months. Along with the scooter, you get an AC home charger as well.
In other news, Ather discontinued the entry-level 340 scooter due to low demand. The company stated that the 450 was the best selling amongst both. It is now available in three riding modes – Eco, Normal and Sport with ranges of 75 kms, 65 kms and 55 kms.
The Ather 450 comes with a 2.4 kWh electric motor that produces 7.3 BHP and 20.5 Nm of peak torque. Through all the modes, the power figures remain the same but the acceleration and top speed are different. In the sport mode, we were able to achieve up to 90 km/hr top speed.

Features onboard include LED headlamps, a TFT colour touchscreen console, Reverse Park Assist, Front and Rear Disc Brakes, CBS, OTA update facility, Inbuilt Google-backed navigation, call alert, message alert, riding range and much more.
Ather also allows leasing plans in which you have to pay Rs 2500 – 4000 per month, depending upon the downpayment you make. Also, you have annual subscriptions to charging stations, vehicle servicing, connected service and much more.
