The Ducati Panigale V2 uses the same chassis and engine as the 959 but gets more power and torque than before and it looks even closer to the mental Panigale V4.
Ducati has launched not one, not two, but three new motorcycles at the Ducati World Premiere 2020. It seems the Ducati engineers and designers must have kept very busy over the past few months preparing for the launch of these motorcycles. The three new motorcycles include the much anticipated Streetfigher V4, the new Multistrada 1260 GT, and the ‘baby’ Ducati Panigale V2. Lets take a closer look at the Panigale V2 here.
In terms of design, the new Panigale V2 looks almost similar to the mental Panigale V4. If you remember the Panigale 959, you would know the motorcycle was still differentiated from its elder sibling. With the new motorcycle however, you would struggle to tell who’s who. The Panigale V2 gets new headlamps which are identical to the ones on the V4. Other than a slightly different fairing and a differently shaped fuel tank, both motorcycles look almost identical. Oh, and there’s also a new exhaust system.
The Panigale V2 gets the same monocoque frame as the 959, but Ducati say that there has been few modifications to the chassis to make the motorcycle a lot more agile. The motorcycle also retains the same 955cc Superquadro V-Twin engine as seen on the 959, but now it is Euro 5/BS6-compliant. The engine now belts out 155hp of power at 10,750rpm and 104Nm of peak torque. That is 5hp and 2Nm more than the Panigale 959.

The suspension setup also remains the same – 43mm Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) at the front and Sachs monoshock at the rear, both fully adjustable. And this being a Ducati, it comes loaded with electronic rider aids as well. You get 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), wheelie control, bi-directional quick-shifter and engine brake control, all of which is accessible via a new 4.3-inch TFT display.

Just like the Panigale 959, the Duacti Panigale V2 will also make it to India, replacing the former. The motorcycle is already Euro5 complaint which means it will also meet our BS-VI emission norms when it comes to India. Although Ducati hasn’t spoken anything about this motorcycles India launch, we expect it to arrive to our shores by mid-2020. It is expected to be priced around Rs 16.5 lakh to Rs 17.0 lakh (ex-showroom).
