Patents of a semi-faired sports bike under the Harley Davidson name have been leaked. Is it the Streetfighter 975 that was earlier showcased?
Harley Davidson had unveiled the upcoming Streetfighter 975 earlier, which was a naked street sports bike. Now, the design patents of its another upcoming motorcycle, which gets a semi-faired styling have been leaked.
Harley Davidson has already confirmed that it is working on a naked street motorcycle and a big adventure motorcycle. Both of them have already been revealed and are likely to be launched globally by next year.
The patent shows a semi-faired front cowl like the one that you find on the Suzuki Katana. The Streetfighter 975 that was shown earlier, is also a naked street fighter and we expect the upcoming motorcycle to be heavily based on it.

Onboard the new Harley Davidson Sportsbike, we can expect the 975cc V-Twin water-cooled engine from the upcoming Streetfighter. The specs are unknown as of now. We expect the power figures to be around 120 BHP or so.
The styling could be reminiscent of the 1994 HD VR1000, which used to race in the AMA Superbike racing series. It was actually a semi-faired motorcycle and looked like a proper race track material.
Talking about Harley Davidson in other news, it is also planning to enter the under 500cc segment in Asian markets. For China, it is reportedly developing a 338cc naked street motorcycle which will be based on the Benelli TNT300.
The styling and some components are likely to be similar to the TNT300, but it will use a completely new engine. Reportedly, this is the motorcycle that might also come to India later and will be produced at their Haryana plant.

As HD has stated, it plans to take on the entry-level premium motorcycle segment, where Royal Enfield is playing dominant. Globally, it has the Street 500 as its most affordable offering but we have the Street 750. All we can do is wait till 2020, when we will get a clear idea of the upcoming motorcycles from Harley Davidson.
