The DBX looks unmistakably like any other Aston Martin. The profile is more like that of a coupe-SUV but from the first sight of it, we are impressed.
From whatever images we have seen of the DBX so far, it has been seen wrapped is camouflage livery and it even comes with many fake panels to disguise the actual shape of the car. Now, the Aston Martin DBX has been spotted testing undisguised for the first time. Treat your eyes with what is an almost production-ready Aston Martin DBX.
The DBX carries the brand’s signature design traits and you immediately know its an Aston Martin. The face is dominated by the large Aston Grille and oval headlamp units just like any other Aston. The DBX however gets new fog lamp housing and if you ignore the ground clearance and tall nose, the DBX almost looks like a Vanquish from a couple of years ago. There’s also gloss black cladding all around to give it an SUV look and some chrome along the window lines.
The DBX is a very well-portioned car in profile. The pronounced rear haunches bring out a lot of character and it even gets air vents on the front fenders. The rear has been finished like the new Vantage and it looks rather cool with the duck tail spoiler on a SUV profile. The rear windscreen has quite a sloping profile with another roof mounted spoiler, making it look almost like a coupe-SUV. Its seems like a very tasteful design that has been executed quite aesthetically.
The Aston Martin DBX will be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine sourced from Mercedes-AMG. This engine would be capable of producing 550 bhp and 700 Nm of peak torque. And there you have it, the DBX is thus the most powerful V8-powered car that Aston Martin has ever produced. Aston says that the DBX will be capable of speeds north of 180 mph or 290 kph.

As of now, Aston has only confirmed the AMG sourced V8 engine but we are also expecting Aston to offer their own 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine which also powers their flagship DBS Superleggera. The DBX will be underpinned by a modified version of the DB11’s platform and will be the first-ever Aston to feature an all-wheel-drive system. There might also be a drift mode on offer in the SUV.

As for Aston’s other future plans, the company plans to bring out a total of seven cars as part of their ‘Second Century Plan’. We have already seen three of them, starting with the DB11, then the all-new Vantage and then the DBS Superleggera. The DBX would be the forth model in the lineup and then it would be followed by the new Vanquish. Further, there will be a second SUV and a finally, a sedan from Aston Martin’s luxury brand Lagonda.
