For the month of September 2019, Maruti has sold more than 5000 units of the S-Presso. In comparison to its prime rival Renault Kwid, the sales are higher.
The festive season is here and automakers have something to be happy about. The four-wheeler sales have kicked up by a bit, in comparison to a previous lot of months. The festive season has also seen a couple of launches happen.
Maruti recently launched the S-Presso mini-SUV in India, priced starting from Rs 3.69 Lakhs (ex-showroom). In just some days of being launched, it has reported sales of more than 5,000 units in September.
The S-Presso is specifically put against the Kwid, which is another SUV-hatchback crossover. Renault has sold 2,995 units of the Kwid for September 2019. Thus, Maruti has added another hatchback in the list.

The Maruti S-Presso has clenched on to the third position in the entry-level hatchbacks list. The first position is taken by none other than the Alto followed by the WagonR. With time to come, we suspect if S-Presso will come near to the Alto in terms of sales.
Maruti S-Presso is wedged right between the Alto K10 and WagonR, in terms of sizes, features and prices. The price of S-Presso goes up to Rs 4.91 Lakhs (Ex-showroom), for the top-spec VXI+ AMT variant. The S-Presso comes in a total of 9 trims, including STD, LXi, VXi and VXi+ as main variants.
The S-Presso runs on a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder BS-6 compliant petrol engine, that puts out 68 BHP and 90 Nm of peak torque. For transmission, you get a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT on offer. The AMT gearbox comes on the top-spec trims.

Features onboard the S-Presso include Digital Centre-placed instrument console, AC with heater, remote Keyless Entry, front Power Windows, internally Adjustable ORVMs, Smart Play 17.78cm touchscreen infotainment with Bluetooth, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering Mounted Audio Controls and Voice Control, Driver Airbag, ABS with EBD and reverse parking sensors.
Talking about the design, it is a fusion of the Vitara Brezza, WagonR and the Alto K10. The front portion including the DRL placement and the front grille comes from the Brezza. The wheel arches and the creases are similar to the WagonR. While it is based on the Alto K10 and is only slightly bigger than it.
