The Skoda Kodiaq RS is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel engine with 240 bhp and 500 Nm of torque and its coming to India at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Skoda launched an off-road biased variant of the Kodiaq called the Kodiaq Scout just last month. Now, there are talks of a sporty variant of the Kodiaq to join the India lineup as well. The new model is called the Kodiaq RS and it will join the Style, L&K and the Scout variants of the Kodiaq in India. Skoda has as many as five cars lined up for India until 2021 and this Kodiaq RS is quite different from the regular Kodiaq. Let’s look at it in a little more detail.
The differences are not much on the visual front but it still gets some aggressively designed bumpers on both ends and a blacked-out vertical-slat grille that replaces the glossy unit in the standard model. Other tweaks include blacked-out ORVMs, larger 20-inch alloy wheels and, of course, the iconic RS badging at the front and rear.
Just like the Scout variant, the Kodiaq RS also gets an all-black theme on the interiors but this time it also gets red-contrast stitching. Other tweaks on the interiors include a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel and sporty bucket-style front seats, alcantara leather seat upholstery and RS logo on the seats, gear lever and metal pedals.
The most significant upgrade is the Dynamic Sound Boost though. It essentially amplifies the sound of the engine and the exhaust inside the cabin through the speakers. It also gets three modes that includes a Sport mode which makes the SUV sound like scintillating! The Eco and Comfort mode tone things down in the cabin.

But the biggest party trick of the Skoda Kodiaq RS is what it packs under the hood. It is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 240PS of power and a whopping 500Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with all-wheel drive. The Kodiaq RS can sprint from 0-100kmph in just 7 seconds with a top speed of 220kmph.

Just like the Octavia RS, the Skoda Kodiaq RS will also come to India via the CBU route. It will be quite more expensive than the current most expensive L&K trim of the Kodiaq. We are guessing it will be about Rs. 5 lakh more expensive than the L&K trim. Although Skoda hasn’t revealed any particular date of the SUV’s India launch, we could see it at the 2020 Auto Expo.
