Skoda Octavia Onyx Edition – What’s Changed?

We tell you five basic changes that come with the new Octavia Onyx Edition

Skoda recently brought in the Octavia Onyx edition to its portfolio. This special edition was launched with an introductory price and is only available in the automatic transmission for both petrol and diesel engine.

The Skoda Octavia Onyx Edition is different from the regular Skoda which are available in the market. Let’s find out what makes it different!

Exteriors Changes

Like the Rapid Onyx edition, the Octavia also see some cosmetic changes. For starters, the sedan is available in three colours – Candy White, Corrida Red and the all-new Race Blue.

Other changes include gloss black finish on the 16-inch alloy wheels followed by the gloss black ORVMs. The luxury sedan also receives black decals on the side and boot-mounted spoiler receives gloss black finish.

Interior Changes

With the new trim, the dual-tone black and beige cabin have been replaced by an all-black theme to give a sporty feel. The sedan also gets a flat-bottom steering wheel along with black leather upholstery for the seats.

Engine Options

Under the hood, the Onyx edition of Octavia is available in two transmission – petrol automatic and diesel automatic. The TSI petrol motor churns out a whopping 180 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque from a 1.8-litre unit. Transmission option includes a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The 2.0-litre, turbocharged diesel engine pulls out 143 bhp with 320 Nm of peak torque. Transmission option includes a 6-speed DSG dual clutch automatic gearbox.

Features

The Onyx edition is based on the Style Trim and receives the large 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It gets connectivity features like Apple CarPlay, Mirror Link and Android Auto. It also gets LED headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lights and automatic climate control.

Safety feature include ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), MBA (Mechanical Brake Assist), MKB (Multi Collision Brake), HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist), ASR (Anti Slip Regulation), and EDL (Electronic Differential Lock).

Prices

The petrol Onyx Edition of Octavia only comes in an automatic transmission and the price for the same sticks to Rs 19.99 lakh. The diesel follows the same trend and it starts at Rs 21.99 Lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
