Has Bajaj Discontinued The Pulsar 125 Neon Drum Brake Variant?

Looks like Bajaj has taken the Pulsar 125 Neon Drum Brake variant off its website. The most-affordable Pulsar was priced at Rs 64,000 to Rs 66,586.

Bajaj launched the Pulsar 125 a couple of months back, which is the most affordable in its family. It was launched in two variants – drum and disc – both priced at Rs 64,000 and Rs 66,586 (ex-showroom), respectively.

Now, it appears that Bajaj has taken the Pulsar 125 Drum brake variant off its website. Our dealership sources had earlier hinted us that most of the Pulsar 125 buyers are preferring the disc brake variant itself.

The disc brake variant is costlier by just Rs 2600. With Pulsar, people associate a sporty commuter and looks like the buyers are comfortable with shelling out extra for the disc brakes.

The Pulsar 125 Neon looks identical the Pulsar 150 Neon, with just changes to the badging. Bajaj offers it in three colour options of Solar Red, Platinum Silver with gloss black base and Neon Blue with a matte black base colour.

The sporty commuter runs on a 124.6cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, that produces 11.8 BHP and 11 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is BS-4 compliant as of now, but Bajaj will be launching the updated lineup very soon.

For suspension purposes, the bike uses telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the back. Now, instead of the drum brakes at the front, the Bajaj Pulsar 125 comes with a front disc and a rear disc brake, with single-channel ABS as standard.

Bajaj still continues with the age-old features that come on the Pulsar 150. So you get the single long seat, single-piece grabrail, a rear tire hugger, clip-on handlebar, position lamps, Digi-analogue speedometer and alloy wheels. However, the reliability and low-maintenance of Pulsar is the main USP.
