Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and MU-X to get Price Hike by Rs. 3-4 Lakh with BS-6 Upgrade!

The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and MU-X are only powered by diesel engines and will see a significant price hike with BS-6 upgrade along with other commercial Isuzu models.

The BS-6 emissions deadline is just a few months away and almost all manufacturers have already begun transitioning to the cleaner emission norms. The latest manufacturer to join the queue is Isuzu and they have announced that they will be stopping production of BS4 models by end-December 2019, in order to manage inventories and clear existing stock. With the transition to the BS-6 emission norms, the price of the Isuzu D-Max and MU-X will also go up substantially.

Ex-showroom prices of the D-Max V-Cross pickup and MU-X SUV are expected to go up by a massive Rs. 3-4 lakhs. Other vehicles in the commercial segment like the D-Max Regular Cab and D-Max S-Cab will also receive a price hike by up Rs. 1-1.5 lakhs. It is important to note that Isuzu’s entire model lineup is only powered by diesel engines which require substantial upgrade to be complying with the updated emission standards than petrol engines, hence the steep rise in prices.

Commenting on the issue, the company’s spokesperson, Shankar Srinivas, said, “There is an air of uncertainty prevailing amongst vehicle buyers in the country. As per the government announcement, BS4 vehicles purchased on or before March 31, 2020, will continue to run even after implementation of BS6 norms coming in force from April 2020. Isuzu would like to notify its new and existing customers about the price hike next year and urge its customers to make appropriate vehicle purchase decisions whilst availing scheme benefits that come with the range of Isuzu utility vehicles.”
