KTM 390 Adventure And 250 Adventure To Be Unveiled At EICMA 2019

Reports suggest that the KTM 390 Adventure and 250 Adventure are all set to be unveiled this week and both will then head over to India soon.

Finally, some big news about the upcoming adventure motorcycle from KTM. The manufacturer is finally going to unveil its much-awaited 390 Adventure at the EICMA 2019 and following that, we will be getting it in India by December 2019. However, that’s not it.

Report further states that along with the 390 Adventure, KTM is also unveiling the 250 Adventure at the 2019 EICMA. The more affordable ADV has already been spied testing in India and both the motorcycles are likely to head over to India this year itself.

The entry-level KTM adventure motorcycle was speculated to be launched at the 2018 Auto Expo, first. Then it was speculated to be seen by the end of 2018, and earlier this year as well.

KTM 390 Adventure will use the same 373cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine that comes on the Duke 390. The engine will be tuned for a better low-end performance, still producing 44 BHP and 37 Nm of torque.

As for the 250 Adventure, it will use the engine from Duke 250. The 249cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine puts out 30 BHP and 24 Nm of torque in its BS-4 form. Both the engines are expected to be BS-6 compliant, which is one of the widely believed reasons for the delay. As usual, the bikes will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The test mules in India have been spotted with a 19-inch and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. However, in the international market, it has been spied with spoked wire wheels. There are chances that the former might come to India.

For suspension, the 390 Adventure will use WP USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the back, with suspension travel longer than the Duke. If we get the touring variant, the travel will still be longer.

Braking will be handled by disc brakes at both the ends with dual-channel ABS as standard. Switchable ABS will be offered too. We do not expect it to get any more off-road oriented features.

It is likely to be priced around Rs 50,000 more than the Duke 390. So expect, the 390 Adventure to go around Rs 3 Lakhs (ex-showroom). At this price range, it will go against the likes of BMW G 310 GS, Royal Enfield Himalayan and Kawasaki Versys-X 300.
