New KTM 390 Adventure Finally Unveiled At The 2019 EICMA

KTM has finally unveiled the much-awaited 390 Adventure at the EICMA 2019. The adventure motorcycle will be launched in India in December this year.

After making us wait for more than a year, KTM finally drops in the new 390 Adventure. KTM’s smallest adventure motorcycle offering has been unveiled at the EICMA 2019, with its India launch set in December 2019.

Primarily, the ADV has been unveiled with alloy wheels. We have a couple of spy shots of the bike with wire-spoke wheels, but we are expecting only alloy wheels to come with the India-spec version.

The styling seems to be inspired by the bigger 790 Duke. At the front, you are greeted with the split LED headlamps, a short windscreen and knuckle-guards. There is an engine bash plate at the bottom. The graphics unlike the Duke and RC series, seem a bit classy and subtle.

As we all know that the KTM 390 Adventure is based on 390 Duke, it uses the same 373cc liquid-cooled DOHC unit. The engine produces 43 BHP and 37 Nm of peak torque, with the engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Performance-enhancing aids include ride-by-wire-throttle and a quick-shifter, but there is no confirmation if the latter will come in India-spec version.

The suspension is handled by 43mm inverted forks at the front and WP monoshock with preload adjust and damping at the back. The front suspension travel is 170mm and the rear travel is 177mm. The bike sits on a steel-trellis frame with a bolted sub-frame.

Braking is handled by a 320mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the back with BOSCH dual-channel ABS. It also gets an off-road mode which lets you switch off the ABS and traction control as well.

The KTM 390 Adventure gets a 14.5 Litres fuel tank and the bike just weighs 158 kgs dry. The height of the seat is 855mm and the ground clearance is 200mm. While it gets a split-seat setup, we expect a small rack at the back to come as standard.

We expect KTM to put a price tag of around Rs 3 Lakhs on its latest adventure motorcycle. At the EICMA 2019, we were also expecting the KTM 250 Adventure to be shown alongside the 390 Adventure. Nevertheless, both are heading over to India pretty soon.
