But what are flat track motorcycles and what exactly is flat track racing? Well, flat track motorcycles are essentially stripped down versions of stock motorcycles which do not have front brakes but get knobby tires. Flat track racing is a mud track motorcycle sport around an oval track, with riders riding around in a counter-clockwise direction. The purpose is to go faster around the track while also sliding the motorcycle sideways. The Royal Enfield Slide School intends to introduce, help and assist riders of all skill levels to understand the nuances of the sport, along with school partners. More such Slide Schools are planned in other parts of the country as well.
