Toyota Raize offers a long list of safety features along with loads of colour options. The compact SUV will be launched tomorrow in Japan and let’s see if the manufacturer will bring it to the Indian shores or not!
Toyota Raize, a sub-4-metre compact SUV will launch tomorrow and details such as its mileage, dimensions and safety features have been leaked before. It is not sure if the Raize will enter the Indian markets or not.
The mileage or the fuel economy for the Toyota Raize will stick at 18.6 km/l for the 2WD and the 4WD trim will return a lower figure sticking to 17.4 km/l. These are WLTC figures and it differs from the ARAI certified numbers.
The compact SUV will first be launched in Japan and then to other markets. And the power is sourced from a 1.0-litre, turbo petrol unit which makes 98 bhp at 6,000 rpm along with 140.2 Nm of peak torque at 2,400-4,000 rpm. Transmission include a CVT gearbox at its launch with a 6-speed manual at later stages.

Toyota Raize is made on the DNGA platform which is an advanced version of the TNGA modular architecture. The dimension of the Raize sticks to 9,995 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width and 1,620 mm in height. The boot space is measured at 369-litres and the compact SUV gets twin floor feature. It basically provides a hidden storage compartment under the floor.
The safety features on the Toyota Raize includes dual front airbags, curtain airbags which are expected to be standard across all trims. Furthermore, it will come with blind spot monitoring system, cornering lamps, adaptive cruise control, a smart parking system, a pedestrian detection system, LED headlamps with an adaptive driving beam and among others.
The Raize will come in a total of eight monotone colour schemes along with three dual tone colour options. The colour option sticks to Shining White Pearl, Turquoise Blue Mica Metallic, Bright Silver Metallic, Laser Blue Crystal Shine, Mustard Yellow Mica Metallic, Fire Quartz Red Metallic and Natural Beige Mica Metallic.
The three dual colour options are – Turquoise Blue with Black Roof, Silver with Black Roof and White White Black Roof. The cost of these dual tone colours will be different from each other upon its launch.

Toyota carries a simple and minimalistic design with the Raize. At the front, it carries round fog light design and a pair of slim LED daytime running lights. Toyota badging can be seen at the centre.
Toyota will also offer different accessories for the Raize which will include additional body kits design and distinctive alloy wheel design. Furthermore, it will get a floating D-pillar and thick cladding lower down.
The interior details are not known but knowing the Toyota brand, it will carry a multi-function steering wheel and a driver focused centre console. We can expect the use of soft touch materials, a new and larger touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
