This is the facelifted Porsche Macan GTS: a more performance-focussed version of Porsche’s mid-size SUV. Available to order now, the GTS sits between the Macan S and Turbo, priced from £58,816.
Under the bonnet sits a less potent version of the Turbo’s powertrain: a 2.9-litre V6 with a pair of turbochargers nestled between the two banks of cylinders. Here it produces 375bhp, and 520Nm of torque; the latter figure is spread all the way from 1,750rpm to 5,000rpm.
Drive is sent to all four wheels via Porsche’s twin-clutch PDK transmission. In standard trim, the GTS will crack the 0-62mph dash in 4.9 seconds, with that time dropping to 4.7 seconds when it’s equipped with the optional Sport Chrono pack. Both versions boast a 162mph top speed. Officially, the Macan GTS achieves 25mpg on the WLTP cycle, and emits 218g/km of CO2.
The GTS gets adaptive dampers as standard, and sits 15mm lower to the ground than the Macan S. Full air suspension is optional, dropping the ride height by a further 10mm. Three brake disc options are available: the standard setup comprises 360mm steel discs front and 330mm rear, while tungsten carbide coated items (390mm and 356mm) and carbon-ceramic discs (396mm, 370mm) are also available. They’re gripped by red Porsche calipers and housed behind 20-inch RS Spyder wheels, painted black.
To match the wheels, the GTS gets various exterior trim strips in black. The rear diffuser is also black, likewise the exhaust trims, which finish a system tuned to give a distinctive sound for the GTS.
Inside, Alcantara trims the centre panels of the seats, and can be found on the armrests, too. Brushed aluminium highlights the cabin, while there’s red contrasting stitching and seat belts. Optional extras include red or white leather upholstery, a Bose sound system and wireless charging.
