The Ducati Streetfighter V4 Might Soon Get a Smaller V2 Sibling!

Ducati has hinted the coming of a Streetfighter V2 which will based on the Panigale V2 and is expected to use the same engine and underpinning as its fully-faired cousin.

Ducati unveiled the Streetfighter V4 some time ago at Ducati World Premiere. Now just like the Panigale V4 has a smaller V2 cousin, Ducati CEO, Claudio Domenicali, has hinted that a smaller-capacity version of the Streetfighter V4 is in the offing. Speaking to a media publication, Domenicali has said that the Streetfighter V4 will remain the cream of the crop but there are plans to soon bring out a similar naked motorcycle with less-extreme performance.

In fact, Ducati unveiled the Panigale V4’s smaller sibling, the new Panigale V2 at this years EICMA Motorcycle show itself. A smaller capacity Streetfighter V4 will essentially be the naked version of the Panigale V2. It could be called the Streetfighter V2 and just like the Panigale V2, this too will be a Euro-5/BS-6 compliant motorcycle.

Just like the Panigale V2, the Streetfighter V2 will also be powered by a 955cc Superquadro motor that churns out 155bhp and 104Nm – 5bhp and 2Nm more than the Panigale 959. The Streetfighter V2 is expected to get this engine in the same state of tune as the Panigale V2. Ducati is also likely to equip the naked with the same set of electronics, highlights of which include a six-axis IMU, Ducati Traction Control, wheelie control and engine brake control.

The Streetfighter V2 could also be using the same underpinnings as the Panigale V2. That means it will get a 43mm fully adjustable Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) at the front and a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear. For braking duties, this motorcycle will then use dual 320mm discs with Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers up front and a 245mm rear disc, with cornering ABS.

As for the pricing of the Streetfighter V2, we expect the difference in price from the Panigale V2 to be as it is between the Streetfighter V4 and the Panigale V4. Since Domenicali has mentioned that it will come soon, we expect the motorcycle to be launched in the international market by mid-2020. Expect the Italian brand to launch the bike in India a few months after its international launch.
