Yamaha is going to discontinue the Fascino 110 and Ray ZR 110 as it now plans to make it big in the trending 125cc scooter segment.
Yamaha recently launched the Fascino 125 and has also unveiled the Ray ZR 125. Both the scooters are BS-6 compliant and the bookings for them have also begun. The prices of Fascino 125 have been revealed, but that of Ray ZR 125 will be out soon.
After this, Yamaha plans to remove the Fascino and Ray ZR 110 from their lineup. As Yamaha says, the 110cc segment is too crowded, they plank to expand further in the 125cc scooter segment. Recently, there have been many launches in the 125cc space as well.
Even in the motorcycle segment, Yamaha believes that there is no space for them in the crowded commuter space. They have decided to bring only premium motorcycles in India, starting with the FZ S and R15 V3 type models.

Yamaha Fascino and Ray ZR come with a 113cc air-cooled engine that produces 7.2 PS and 8.1 Nm of peak torque. For braking, Fascino gets drum brakes at both the ends but Ray ZR gets a front disc brake as standard.
While the Fascino is a retro-styled scooter, the Ray ZR is modelled as a sporty scooter. Yamaha even equipped the Ray ZR with the limited edition Moto GP styling, that you can see on Valentino Rossi’s motorcycle. It comes with dual-tone shades and decals to make it look sporty.
We expect both these scooters to be sold until the BS-6 norms come into existence. The production might be stopped anytime if the leftover stock is high. From April 2020, Yamaha will only sell the Fascino 125 and Ray ZR 125 in India.

The 110cc segment is ruled by Honda which sells more than 1.5-2 Lakh units of Activa per month. Followed by that is the TVS Jupiter, which is another popular model. Rest of the 110cc models are not that popular in the market. Similarly, Suzuki also planned to stop 110cc models and focus on 125cc scooters.
