Details about the alliance of Bajaj-Triumph and their first sub-500cc motorcycle for India will be revealed on 25th January.
Finally, the Bajaj-Triumph alliance is happening, for the good of us. Both the companies have confirmed that they will reveal about their partnership, upcoming products and their shared technology next week. We will finally have some sight on the first Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle.
Premium brands like KTM, BMW Motorrad have tied up with Indian manufacturers to launch their affordable motorcycles. Well, KTM did it a long time back, BMW joined the train two years back with the G 310 R and G 310 GS.
Many international two-wheeler manufacturers are doing the same, like Benelli and CF Moto. Both have tied up with local dealership networks to debut their motorcycles in India.

One thing for sure is that the Bajaj-Triumph will put a motorcycle in the highly competitive 350-600cc segment. This particular segment has seen a sudden incline in the past few months, owing to quick launches from many new as well as existing brands.
Triumph Motorcycles will go the research, development, design and quality check of the motorcycle. Bajaj Auto will help in the localization and manufacturing of this bike, making it affordable as well as premium.
The partnership here will be different from what Bajaj has with KTM. The former owns 48% share in KTM and their low capacity motorcycles are produced at Bajaj’s plant in Chakan.
Checking the competition, Royal Enfield is the best-seller in the 350-600cc segment. With its Classic and Bullet Range and of course, the new 650 Twins, it has completely monopolized this segment.
As of now, there are no details of the upcoming Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle. We expected it to be the 500cc version of Bonneville T120 or Street Twin. But, Triumph is working on completely new designs.

With Triumph on board, Bajaj will have a strong play right from 100cc to 600cc. In the entry-level 200-350cc, it already has the Duke series, RC series and the Dominar. Further, there are reports of more Bajaj motorcycles in the development of this segment.
