KTM recently launched the 390 Adventure in India and now, they are just about the bring the BS6 complaint naked cousin of the 390 Adventure. Yes, the BS6 KTM Duke 390 is juts around the corner and KTM dealers have begun accepting bookings for the BS6-compliant 2020 KTM 390 Duke unofficially. The company has begun dispatching the new bike and it’s set to reach showrooms by the end of the week. Recently, we also reported you about the BS6 KTM Duke 250 with its updated price. With the BS6 update, the Duke 250 saw minor cosmetic updates in the form of two new color schemes. We particularly liked the grey/black color scheme on the new Duke 250 and just like its younger sibling, the new BS6 Duke 390 also gets this grey/black color scheme. In addition to the new colour, the 390 Duke also gets revised graphics, which are a lot more subtle this time around.

The Duke 250 saw no mechanical changes with its BS6 update but the Duke 390 does. The new BS6 Duke 390 gets a bi-directional quickshifter that made its debut on the recently-launched 390 Adventure. This feature could soon be seen in the BS6 KTM RC 390 as well.
Along with this, the sport-naked will also get the required changes to the exhaust system and map in order to make it BS6-compliant.

Although KTM hasn’t yet revealed the exact performance figures of the BS6 Duke 390, we expect the numbers to remain identical. This motor is already BS6 complaint in the 390 Adventure and there it produces 43.5 bhp of power and 37 Nm of torque. The engine will be offered in the same state of tune in the Duke 390 and the numbers will be identical. Except for the motor, the rest of the mechanicals bits and bobs remain the same as before. So it’s the same suspension setup and brakes as the BS4 390 Duke.

We were expecting KTM to equip the BS6 390 Duke with the same electronics package as seen on the 390 ADV. The motorcycle thus still misses out on cornering ABS and traction control. However, for just Rs. 5,000 hike in price, the addition of a bi-directional quick shifter as standard is a great thing. It won’t be long before KTM sends out official information, which is when we can confirm all the technical and cosmetic changes.
