Hyundai now brings the Aura sedan in India which is based on the Xcent. The new sub-4-metre sedan gets a lot of upgrades with prices starting at Rs 5.79 Lakhs.
Just before the 2020 Auto Expo, Hyundai brings the new Aura sedan. The sub-4-metre sedan is based on the outgoing Xcent and will soon replace it also. But to differentiate it from the Xcent, Hyundai has packed the Aura with more exciting bits.
The price of Hyundai Aura starts off at Rs 5.79 Lakhs up to Rs 9.23 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). If compared to Xcent, the low-end variants are cheaper while the top-end variants are costlier. Here is the variant-wise price list of the Hyundai Aura:

Hyundai Aura gets three BS6 compliant engines, including its existing 1.2 Litre petrol engine, a refreshed 1.2 Litre diesel engine and a new 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine. The turbo engine comes from the Venue but in a detuned state.
The petrol engine produces 83 PS at 6000 RPM and 116 Nm of peak torque at 4000 RPM. Hyundai has also put a factory-fitted CNG kit with this petrol unit. The CNG variants produce 69 PS and 97 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine produces 75 PS at 4000 RPM and 194 Nm of peak torque at 1750-2250 RPM.
The 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine is capable of producing 100 PS and 175 Nm of peak torque. The petrol and diesel engines come with the options of a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT. The turbo-petrol and CNG variants get 5-speed MT as standard.

Hyundai claims that the petrol engine will offer a mileage of 20.5 kmpl with the MT and 20.10 kmpl with AMT. The diesel engine will offer 25.35 kmpl with MT and 25.40 kmpl with AMT. Lastly, the turbo-petrol engine will also deliver 20.5 kmpl.
Talking about the styling changes, Hyundai Aura sports sleeker and sharper front and rear bumpers, a refreshed front grille, new diamond-cut alloy wheels and a slightly taller bonnet line. You also get the new headlamp and tail lamp design as well. The rear portion has also received a complete makeover.
Inside the cabin, there’s the new steering wheel, new and bigger touchscreen infotainment system, refreshed dashboard theme and new upholstery as well. The turbo-petrol variants get a different theme inside the cabin for a sportier affair.

The petrol and diesel variants of Hyundai Aura are available in six colour options – Vintage Brown, Alpha Blue, Fiery Red, Titan Grey, Typhoon Silver and Polar White. The turbo-petrol variant only comes with Red, Grey and Silver colour option.
The Aura now measures 3995mm in length, 1680mm in width and 1520mm in height. The wheelbase is 2450mm long. The ground clearance remains the same as of Xcent. Further, Hyundai Aura gets three warranty packages to choose from:
- 3 Years / 1,00,000 Kms
- 4 Years / 50,000 Kms
- 5 Years / 40,000 Kms
Hyundai Aura will continue to rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Tigor, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire and Volkswagen Ameo. Yet again, Aura emerges as the most feature-equipped sedan in its class.
