At the 2020 Auto Expo, Hyundai will introduce the N-Line Grand i10 Nios, which gets the 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine from the Aura.
The new Aura sedan is Hyundai’s second car in the lineup to get a turbo petrol engine. Soon, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will also get a turbo-petrol engine. This seems to be the new trend with the automakers of offering their cars with a performance-oriented motor.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios turbo petrol will source the turbocharger unit from the compact SUV, Venue. The new Aura gets the same motor but it detuned to make 100 BHP and 172 Nm of peak torque. Nios Turbo will also make the same power figures.
The three-cylinder turbo-petrol motor will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The current petrol engine from Nios generates 83 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque from the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.

It gets a 1.2 litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 74 BHP and 190 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options for the petrol and diesel engine include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT.
The hot hatchback will get an all-black interior, contrast stitching, floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as connectivity features and sporty new alloy wheels.
Further to distinguish the turbo petrol over the regular Nios, we can expect to get blacked out radiator grille, dual exhaust set up and redesigned front and rear bumpers from the exteriors.

Also, with the added power the ride quality will be tuned too. So we can expect stiff suspension setup, improved handling and expect rear disc brakes too for powerful braking experience.
Upon its launch, it will sit with the already established hot hatches we have in the country. It will compete with the likes of Volkswagen GT TSI, Tata Tiago JTP and Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS. It is expected to be priced at Rs 8.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will come in two variants only.
