The HBC sub-compact SUV will be the most important Renault car at the 2020 Auto Expo along with future concepts, global products and even an F1 racing concept.
The 2020 Auto Expo is just round the corner, set to kick start from February 5. As we are nearing the dates, manufacturers are announcing their lineup of cars for the Auto Expo. Just a couple of days ago, we reported that Maruti Suzuki will have a 17-car strong lineup at the Expo. Now Renault has announced their lineup for the 2020 Auto Expo. The French carmaker has confirmed that it will have a total of 12 cars and two engines on display at its pavilion from February 5-12, 2020.
Renault will have a mix of existing products and future products on display at their stall at the Auto Expo. The existing products include the Triber, Kwid and Duster and then there will be upcoming models and global concepts, including its F1 racing concept. Renault has also said that there will be a dedicated ‘Electric Corner’ and global concepts highlighting Renault’s focus on future mobility. Customer engagement activities and performances, which are meant to demonstrate the brand’s DNA, “Passion For Life”, will also be a part of the Renault’s display at the motor show.
What we are most excited to see at Renault’s stand is the new HBC sub-compact SUV. It will be the most important car for Renault at the Auto Expo stand and also for India as it takes on the highly competitive sub-compact SUV space with the likes of the Venue, Vitara Brezza and Tata nexon. It has already been spied in India on several occasions but all that has been apparent about the design is the the Renault family grille.

The two engines that we mentioned before that will be on display at Renault’s stand include a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine that are expected to make their India debut at the Auto Expo. In fact, the HBC sub-compact SUV will be powered by the 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine which is three cylinder unit. It will most likely come mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Also, the HBC is based on the Renault’s sub-four meter platform that also underpins the Triber.

Keeping up with future mobility, the dedicated Electric Corner at Renault’s stands will most likely have products like the Renault Zoe and the Kwid EV which has been showcased in China. But there will also be the Symbioz electric concept that Renault had teased at its social media platforms. The 2020 Auto Expo is just a week away and there’s certainly lot to look forward to.
