Tata introduces the Nexon EV in India, with prices starting off at Rs 13.99 lakhs. The EV offers an ARAI-claimed range of 312 kms.
Tata’s second electric offering, the Nexon EV has been successfully launched. The introductory price of Tata Nexon EV starts at Rs 13.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The bookings for that have commenced for a token of Rs 21,000 but the EV will only be available in some cities.
The electric Nexon will be available in three variants – XM, XZ and XZ+ Luxury. The detailed price list of the variants of Tata Nexon EV is as follows:

Nexon EV gets a 30.2 kWh electric motor with an IP67 rated liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack. The motor produces 129 PS and a peak torque of up to 245 Nm. It comes with two driving modes – Drive And Sport – the latter offering a torque boost of up to 60%.
Tata Motors claims that the Nexon EV will offer a driving range of up to 312 Kms. In real-world conditions, it can go down to around 250 kms, which is not bad either. For improving the range, it also gets advanced regenerative braking. The Nexon EV can go from 0-100 km/hr in just 9.9 seconds.
Tata Nexon EV can be fully charged in 6-8 hours using the standard AC wall charger. Tata will be providing that free of cost. Tata has also setup public fast chargers which can charge the EV up to 80% in just 50 minutes.

The design of the Nexon EV is identical to the recently launched Nexon Facelift. The EV also gets some cosmetic upgrades and EV-specific changes inside the cabin too. New features onboard include:
- Hill assist and descent function
- Automatic LED headlamps with LED DRLs
- Electric sunroof
- Push Start Button
- Wearable Key
- Rain Sensing Wipers
- Touchscreen Infotainment system by Harmon Kardon with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Brake Energy Regeneration
- Drive Modes – Drive And Sport
- Semi-Digital Instrument Console
Nexon EV still carries the badge of the 5-star safety rating, based on global NCAP tests. Safety features on board include:
- Dual front airbags
- Rear parking sensors
- Rear parking camera
- Speed Alert System
- Seat Belt Reminder
- IP67 Battery Rating with protection against Dust, Moisture and Water
Lastly, Tata is offering 8 Years / 1.6 Lakhs kms warranty on the battery and the Nexon EV. As of now, it is the most affordable electric SUV with Kona EV and MG ZS EV taking up the 20 Lakhs plus bracket. Next year, Mahindra will launch the electric XUV 300, which will be its prime rival.
