Reports suggest that Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP might not receive any BS6 upgrades, due to the stricter norms and some internal issues as well.
Tata Motors, in collaboration with Tamil-Nadu based Jayem Auto, launched the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP. Both the performance-focused cars received a big upgrade in terms of the engine, suspension and the handling.
Packed with the 1.2 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol motor, the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP produce 115 BHP and 150 Nm of peak torque. The engines get revised engine tuning and the 5-speed gearbox also undergoes treatment for quicker shifts.
However, there was a recent tweet suggesting that the partnership of Tata Motors and Jayem Auto has been called off. Further, reports suggest that there are chances that Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP might not receive any BS6 upgrade.

Tata has upgraded most of its cars with BS6 engines excluding the Harrier, Hexa and JTP Twin. We know that Harrier BS6 is coming by next month and Hexa will not get the BS6 upgrade anytime soon. Only unknown information is about the JTP Twins.
Tata JTP twins were only available in 15 cities for sale. While the Tiago JTP is priced at Rs 6.39 Lakhs, the Tigor JTP goes for Rs 7.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices). They are based on the top-spec trims of regular Tiago and Tigor with the same features list.
Tiago JTP is the most affordable performance-oriented hatchback in India, competing with the likes of now discontinued Maruti Baleno RS and the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. Now with the Hyundai Aura equipped with the 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol unit, it competes with Tigor JTP.
