MG Gets More Than 50,000 Bookings For Hector; 20,000 Already Sold

MG Hector is the best selling model in the C-SUV as it has gathered more than 50,000 bookings for the Hector. It rivals the likes of Harrier and XUV500.

MG’s first product for India is a best seller. Priced aggressively, MG Hector is now the top-selling SUV in the C-SUV segment which also has the Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500. It is priced from Rs 12.73 Lakhs up to Rs 17.48 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Since 8 months of its launch in India, MG has managed to gather more than 50,000 bookings for the Hector. 20,000 units have already been sold over the country till date. Now with BS6 engines incoming, the delivery process is running a bit delayed.

MG Hector gets a 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel engine and a 1.5 Litre turbocharged petrol engine. The petrol engine further gets a mild-hybrid technology as an engine option. The diesel and hybrid variants are paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox while the regular petrol engine also gets a 7-speed DCT as an option.

The diesel engine is sourced from FCA and is also found on Jeep Compass. It produces 170 BHP and 350 Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine produces 143 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. The hybrid variant also produces the same figures but offers slightly better mileage.

Hector is loaded with features such as panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, vertically-placed touchscreen infotainment with i-Smart technology and integrated E-SIM, fully digital instrument console, electronic adjustment for driver seat and much more.

Safety features on the Hector include six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear disc brakes, hill assist, 360-degrees camera, auto-dimming IRVM, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), front parking sensors and much more.

The prices of BS6 Hector Petrol and Petrol-Hybrid are out and their deliveries have also started. As for BS6 diesel, it will be launched very soon. Soon, MG is also going to launch the 6-seater Hector Plus in India, followed by the big-size MG Gloster.
