Renault showcased the new 1.3 Litre turbo-petrol engine for the Duster at the Auto Expo 2020. It will replace the 1.5 Litre four-cylinder diesel engine soon.
As told earlier, Renault is going to discontinue diesel engines in India, completely. As for the Duster, it will also lose its beloved and torquey diesel engine very soon. For that, Renault Duster is getting a new turbo petrol engine.
At the Auto Expo 2020, Renault showcased the Duster with a 1.3 Litre turbo petrol engine. There were very minor changes on the updated engine version, like new alloy wheels and red inserts over the body. Most likely, these changes would not come on the production version.
The 1.3 Litre turbo petrol engine of Renault Duster produces 156 BHP 250 Nm of peak torque. That’s 50 BHP and 108 Nm more than the other 1.5 Litre petrol engine. This engine will further come paired with a 6-speed MT and a CVT gearbox.

Renault wants to put this engine for off-roading purpose, where a generous amount of low-end torque is needed. The Duster diesel was known for that and was a small but capable machine in the off-roading circles.
The other engine on offer will be the 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol motor. The engine produces 106 BHP and 142 Nm of peak torque. This engine gets a 5-speed MT and a CVT on option. Renault is likely to offer the turbo motor only on high-end variants.
Renault recently launched the Duster facelift with got some cosmetic upgrades. There’s reshaped bumpers, new headlamps, new alloy wheels and added colour options as well. Inside the cabin, there’s just new upholstery colour.

Renault is planning to introduce its new sub-compact SUV very soon. It will use the new 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine that Renault is developing for the Triber too. We are expecting it to be seen in the coming months.
