Renault India has now unveiled the Triber AMT at the 2020 Auto Expo. It will launch the automatic variants by the second quarter of 2020.
Renault has kickstarted its innings at the Auto Expo 2020 with the unveiling of Triber AMT. Launched in 2019, the MPV only got a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Renault will launch the Triber AMT by the second quarter of this year.
The 5-speed AMT gearbox will be paired to the same 1.0 Litre three-cylinder petrol engine of Triber. The engine produces 72 BHP and 96 Nm of peak torque. Now, the engine is BS6 compliant and the BS6 units are already being delivered.
Further, the Triber AMT will get minor cosmetic upgrades on the exterior as well as the interior. On the outside, the MPV gets new 16-inch alloy wheels(not on production-spec), slightly revised front and rear bumper, a new skid plate and dual-tone colour options.
Inside the cabin, it gets refreshed theme for the dashboard and upholstery. Other than that, the interior remains the same with a large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, fully digital speedometer, flat-bottom steering wheel and lots of storage spaces.
Features onboard include auto-start stop button, a fast-charging port at the front, four power windows, rear wiper and washer, projector headlamps, rear AC vents, LED DRLs and electric boot release. Safety features include four airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert as well as driver and co-driver seatbelt warning.
Triber AMT is expected to demand around Rs 30,000 over the manual variants. While we await further details, the AMT is likely to be available from the second variant to the range-topping variant.
Soon, Renault is also expected to introduce the new 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine on the Triber and its upcoming sub-compact SUV. The engine is reported to produce around 95-100 BHP. It will also be available with a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT.
