Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the launch of 2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift and Tucson Facelift stands delayed for the time being.
Hyundai was going to launch the 2020 Verna Facelift and the Tucson facelift this month. While Hyundai unveiled the new Verna through photos a couple of weeks back, the Tucson facelift made a debut on the first day of Auto Expo 2020, in February.
Now, due to the coronavirus outbreak, Hyundai has stopped the production at its Sriperumbudur plant in Tamil Nadu. Most of the manufacturers will halt the production and manufacturing till March 31. So, that’s the reason for the delay in launch.
The launch was actually very near because dealerships had already started receiving the Verna facelift. The bookings for Verna had commenced recently for a token of Rs 25,000. We are guessing that the online bookings will still continue but you cannot go and see the car in person. Because of the lockdown, the dealerships will remain closed.

As of now, even the deliveries of cars and two-wheelers have been delayed by atleast a month. The new lockdown period is up to 14th April and post that, the deliveries will commence. Hyundai recently launched the new generation Creta which was expected to be delivered to customers starting in April.
Hyundai Verna gets a major facelift with significant cosmetic tweaks, completely new engines, new transmission options and a couple of feature additions. Cosmetic upgrades include new alloy wheels, sharper front and rear bumpers and new headlamp and tail lamp design. The overall silhouette remains the same as earlier.
Under the hood, you have three new engines including a 1.5 Litre petrol, 1.5 Litre diesel and a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol. The turbo engine comes from the Venue and produces 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque. This engine will come paired to a 7-speed DCT as standard.
New features onboard will include Automatic LED headlamps, Blue Link technology, new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, six airbags, ESC with VSM, front parking sensors and an all-digital instrument cluster. These features will come on the top-spec trims.

As for the Tucson, it gets a new front grille, completely new front and rear bumpers, new headlamp design and upgraded alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, there will be new floating touchscreen infotainment with Blue Link technology. Other than that, it will also continue with the same but BS6 compliant engines.
