Bajaj has finally launched the Dominar 250 in India. It looks identical to the Dominar 400, but gets some minor mechanical changes. Just like the bigger Dominar, even the new one is based on a KTM motorcycle, the Duke 250.

The bookings for Dominar 250 are already ongoing across the country. The bikes have started reaching dealerships and in a week or two, the deliveries will also commence. Here we put it against the likes of BS6 KTM Duke 250.

At the front, Dominar 250 uses thinner 37mm USD telescopic forks. Its elder sibling uses 43mm USD forks which have been taken out for cost-cutting. At the back, it gets the same monoshock suspension. As for the Duke 250, it uses WP sourced 43mm USD forks at the front and a WP sourced monoshock at the back. Same setup but the Duke is more premium.

Bajaj Dominar 250 Vs KTM Duke 250 Braking And Tires

Tires 100/80-17 section Front and 130/70-17 Section Rear 110/70 R17 Section Front and 150/60 R17 Section Rear

Dominar uses relatively smaller (than Dominar 400) 300mm front disc brake and 230mm rear disc brake. Dual-channel ABS comes as standard. Further, it uses slimmer 100/80-17 section front tyres and 130/70-17 section rear tyres. No radial tyres, unfortunately.

Duke 250 again bags the department with bigger 320mm front disc and 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS as standard. For a better racing experience, you get the SuperMoto mode along with it. On this mode, the traction control and ABS are disabled. Further, it gets 17-inch radial tires at both the ends. Also, the tyres are fatter than Dominar.

There are some huge differences seen here. Dominar is longer, wider and even taller than the Duke. A lot bigger. Its wheelbase is also nearly 350mm more than the Duke. However, Duke gets more ground clearance of 185mm, which is somewhat important and better. The seat height of Dominar is comparatively lower at 800mm. So, shorter people can easily fit on the Dominar. Moving on to the weight, Dominar is 33 kilograms heavier than Duke 250. All these figures suggest that Duke comes out to be sportier and more agile to ride.
