A BMW G 310 GS owner has compared his motorcycle with the KTM 390 Adventure, explaining the goods and bads of both the off-roaders in this review video.
KTM has launched the 390 Adventure in India at a price of Rs 2.99 Lakhs. With this, the BMW G 310 GS gets the perfect rival, which is comparatively less powerful. Also, it is costlier by nearly Rs 50,000, priced at Rs 3.49 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom).
In this video, an existing owner of BMW G 310 GS tries out the KTM 390 Adventure and has given out his review of both the motorcycles. To be noted, the G 310 GS is available with hefty discounts now, making its prices closer to KTM. However, once the BS6 version of it comes, the prices will increase further.
First, he has compared the performance of both motorcycles. The BMW feels more planted and refined than the 390 Adventure. While the low-end torque of the BMW is better, the KTM shines out when it comes to top speed and acceleration.

Both the bikes have been installed with raised handlebars and with that, the vibrations on both of them have gone down. There’s really not much difference between the tires since both of them run on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tyres. The wheelbase of GS is longer than KTM which has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Since GS is longer, the ride feels more planted. Whereas, the 390 Adventure is easy to ride and manoeuvre around. The seat of the latter is firmer than GS, and quoting the reviewer, it is as firm as a bench. Also, the KTM gets a firm suspension setup whereas BMW goes with a softer setup.
One thing that the owner has indicated about the GS is that its maintenance is costly. The 390 is any day a winner in terms of electronics as it gets Supermoto mode, traction control, quick shifter and a TFT-colour instrument cluster with phone connectivity. However, the end conclusion of this review video hints that BMW G 310 GS is a winner over the KTM 390 Adventure. We have tried out the GS and here is our first ride review of it.

390 Adventure goes with the same 373cc engine that comes on Duke 390 and RC 390. The motor produces 43 BHP and 37 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The GS gets the Apache RR310-derived 313cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine, that puts out 34 PS and 28 Nm of peak torque.
