You Can Still Buy A BS4 Car After April 1 – Here’s How?

Still, looking for a cheaper BS4 car before the deadline? You can still buy one only if you are completely ready for this option.

Many buyers are still confused about whether to go for a BS4 car or a BS6 one. While many of them have opted to pay extra and go for BS6 cars only. Some buyers are ready to buy BS4 cars because they are offered with heavy discount offers.

However, as the deadline is nearing and due to the lockdown by coronavirus outbreak, you cannot buy any cars right now. Be it a BS4 model or a BS6. While many of the dealerships have sold out their BS4 stock, some of them still have it.

BS6 Car

As per the government rules, a new BS4 car or a two-wheeler cannot be registered after 31st March. However, you can still buy a second BS4 car after the deadline as well. There you have an option. A brand new but second-hand car. Let me explain.

When inquired earlier, a lot of dealerships were resorting to this plan. If they are left with a couple of cars or even a single BS4 car towards the end of March, they will register the car in their or their staffs’ name making them the first owner.

Since the car is registered brand new before March 31, it can still be sold after the deadline. One good thing about these cars will be that they will come with zero kilometres running and hefty discounts. Besides the ownership, the car will be completely brand new.

However, with this, a big problem is associated too. The time when you have to resell your car. Since you will be buying the new car as a second-hand model, if you resell it even in a year, the value will go down by a huge figure because it will be treated as a third-hand car.

Also, due to this coronavirus outbreak, the dealerships will be closed till March 31. The RTO offices are shut so a dealer cannot currently register any car. If they have registered it earlier, then they still have a chance to sell it off after the lockdown is over. Otherwise, it will go in the unsold stock.

This is also possible if a dealer actually has any BS4 car left. Most of the big dealership chains have exhausted their BS4 stocks already. Small or local dealers might still be doing this process.
