Renault Kwid
- Price – Rs 4.73 Lakhs to Rs 5.01 Lakhs
- Gearbox – 5-speed AMT
- Engine Specs – 1.0 Litre three-cylinder petrol: 68 BHP and 91 Nm
Renault Kwid AMT is first in the list of cheapest automatic cars. The AMT gearbox is available on the top two variants, RXT and RXT(O). Also, you get the gearbox with the Climber variant. It gets a 1.0 Litre petrol engine that produces 68 BHP and 91 Nm.
Maruti S-Presso
- Price – Rs 4.75 Lakhs to Rs 4.99 Lakhs
- Gearbox – 5-speed AMT
- Engine Specs – 1.0 Litre three-cylinder : 69 BHP and 91 Nm
Earlier, Alto K10 was the most affordable automatic car in India. Now, S-Presso takes up the second spot and is the cheapest automatic Maruti car. S-Presso AMT comes with the top end three variants, VXI, VXI (O) and VXI+. It gets a 1.0 Litre petrol engine, producing 69 BHP and 91 Nm.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio
- Price – Rs 5.23 Lakhs to Rs 5.58 Lakhs
- Gearbox – 5-speed AMT
- Engine Specs – 1.0 Litre three-cylinder : 69 PS and 90 Nm
Celerio AMT is even cheaper than the WagonR AMT. It was launched a couple of years back as a premium alternative to Celerio. Now, its a different thing. It gets the existing 1.0 Litre engine and the AMT variant comes in the top two variants. FYI, Celerio has already received the BS6 upgrade.
Maruti WagonR
- Price – Rs 5.37 Lakhs to Rs 5.95 Lakhs
- Gearbox – 5-speed AMT
- Engine Specs – 1.0 Litre three-cylinder : 69 BHP and 91 Nm / 1.2 Litre four-cylinder : 83 BHP and 113 Nm
WagonR AMT is offered with both of its engine options, the 1.0 Litre and the 1.2 Litre engines. It comes in four variants – VXI 1.0, VXI (O) 1.0, VXI 1.2 and ZXI 1.2. The mileage figures are different for both, obviously the 1.0 Litre engine offering more.
Hyundai Santro
- Price – Rs 5.52 Lakhs to Rs 5.95 Lakhs
- Gearbox – 5-speed AMT
- Engine Specs – 1.1 Litre four-cylinder : 69 PS and 101 Nm
Santro AMT is the costliest and available in two mid-spec variants, Magna and Sportz. The top-spec Asta variant does not get an automatic gearbox. Santro AMT misses on the whistles and bells that come on the top-spec Asta, despite the Sportz AMT being costlier than the former. It gets a 1.1 Litre four-cylinder Epilson petrol engine that produces 69 PS and 101 Nm.
