Due to low sales, Bajaj has pulled the plug on the Discover 110 and the 125 as the motorcycles have not been updated to comply with the BS6 norms.
Bajaj Auto has been recently updating their entire product lineup for the BS6 emission norms. While the company has given BS6 update to most of their products and also subsequently revealed the prices, the Bajaj discover range has surprisingly been left out of the mix. As it turns out, Bajaj has now discontinued the Discover 110 and 125 from the Indian market as they not been updated to meet the stricter emission norms.
This particularly comes across as a surprise as the Discover nameplate is one of the oldest in the company’s stable and has been on sale for the past 16 years and was available in a range of displacements. Bajaj started with a 125cc in the Discover series and then later expanded the range to include – 100cc, 125cc, 135cc and 150cc motorcycles. The model was regularly updated with more sophisticated hardware over its lifetime to include disc brakes, monoshock rear suspension and more.
Bajaj had as many as 30 different variants of the Discover over its one and half decades of sale in India. When it was first launch, the model saw great success and sold in large volumes. However, over the rear, numbers had really come down. In 2018, Bajaj reintroduced the Discover 110 and 125 in the Indian market with a simple and familiar design language, something the customers in this commuter segment really appreciate.

However, as it turns out, the commuter offerings did not really measure out to what customers were looking for in this segment. It is also unclear at this moment if the exports for the Discover series has been stopped as well. In several emerging international markets, where emission norms aren’t as stringent as the BS6 norms in India, Bajaj can continue to sell the BS4 complaint motorcycles like before.

The Bajaj Discover series could make a come back in India in a brand new form and its not completely unlikely as we’ve seen the motorcycle do so in the past. For now, the CT 100 and Platina will serve as the bread and butter models for Bajaj in India. Meanwhile, Bajaj also retails the Pulsar 125 in the 125cc segment space and it has been bringing in decent numbers for the manufacturer as well.
