Bajaj Launches BS6 Pulsar NS200 and RS200 – Price and Details

Bajaj has launched the BS6 Pulsar NS200 and RS200 with the former seeing a hike in price by almost Rs 11,000 while the latter sees a hike of about just Rs 3,000. Justifying a steep rise in price, it also gets some extra performance.

Amidst this lockdown, Bajaj has silently launched the BS6 Pulsar NS200 and the RS200. The company has silently updated the price of these BS6 motorcycles on their website. The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 BS6 is now available for a price of Rs 1,25,030 while the Pulsar RS200 BS6 is available for a price of Rs 1,44,966, all prices ex-showroom Delhi.

The BS6 Pulsar NS200 is Rs 10,675 more expensive than its BS4 predecessor and that’s a significant hike in price for the motorcycle. Like all BS6 two-wheelers, the motorcycle gains a fuel-injection system, a catalytic converter and there’a a brand new ECU on the motorcycle as well. The bump in price might as well be thus justified considering all the new equipment you get.

But that’s not all. Apart from more equipment, the motorcycle also produces more power and torque from before. The fuel-injected BS6 engine now produces 24.5PS and 18.5Nm compared to the previous 23.5PS and 18.3Nm of the BS4 model. The motorcycle has also gained about 2 kilos (up to 156kg) in weight and thus overall performance will likely remain the same or might just be a little better. You could also expect a crispier throttle response and better fuel efficiency owing to fuel injection.

Now coming to the BS6 Pulsar RS200, the motorcycle sees a hike in price by just Rs 3,033 over its BS4 model. We were never really a fan of the styling of the RS200 and its has remain unchanged even with the BS6 update. Although Bajaj could introduce some new graphics or color schemes in the months to come. The engine pumps out the same power but has marginally extra torque.

The BS6 Pulsar RS200 is powered by a 199.5cc single-cylinder fuel-injected liquid-cooled DTS-i as before. Max power is still rated at 24.5PS but the 18.7Nm peak torque rating is 0.1Nm more. The motorcycle has also gained 2kgs in the process of BS6 compliance and while the marginal increase in torque will not help anything, the slight increase in weight will deter performance by a small margin.

The underpinnings of the motorcycle also remain unchanged. The RS200 is suspended from a perimeter frame and it gets telescopic forks at the front and preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. You get disc brakes at both ends but sadly, it just gets a single-channel ABS unit. Earlier, the RS200 was even available with dual-channel ABS but it seems like Bajaj is not going to offer that variant now to save costs.
