Datsun has teased the new BS6 Redigo with a heavy facelift and it looks really striking. The are major updates expected inside the cabin as well and its going to launch in a few weeks time.
We had already reported to you that Datsun was going to launch a facelift with the BS6 update of the Redigo. Now, the company has released a teaser image, revealing a heavily updated Redigo hatchback. The teaser image shows that the BS6 Datsun Redigo facelift will come with a heavily updated front fascia. The face now features sharper, slimmer headlamps sitting around a much larger octagonal grille with a chrome surround. There’s a prominent Datsun logo in the center as well.
What really catches your eyes with this new facelift are the new L-shaped LED DRLs on either side of the grille. They are much more prominent and striking as compared to the tiny optional ones on the outgoing car. The Datsun Redigo facelift also gets new alloy wheels, something we also saw with the updated Datsun Go and Go+. The outside rear view mirrors have also been revised and there’s a new plaque with the Datsun name on the front fenders as well. Although the teaser image does not reveal anything from the rear of the car, we expect some changes to the rear bumper as well and there’s even a new spoiler at the rear now.
Not much is however known about the interiors of the Redigo facelift. From what is evident in these teaser images, the Redigo continues with its tall-boy design and so you can expect good amount of space on the inside. We expect some changes to the dashboard as well, and going by modern time standards, a touchscreen infotainment screen and a passenger side airbag could definitely be a part of the mix. What is certain, however, is that this new Redigo will comply with Indian crash test norms as well as the upcoming pedestrian protection standards.
