BS6 Volkswagen Polo Mileage Lowest Against Swift, Grand i10 And Figo

Volkswagen has revealed the official mileage figures of the BS6 Polo, which are comparatively a lot lower than its rivals.

Just some weeks before the emissions deadline, Volkswagen launched the BS6 compliant Polo. Volkswagen has discontinued the 1.2 Litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol and the 1.5 Litre TDI turbo-diesel engines due to the BS6 norms. Both Polo and Vento have been affected.

The 1.0 Litre MPI engine of the Polo has been retained. The higher-end variants get a new 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that is more powerful than the earlier turbo unit. The new engine comes mated to a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed torque converter AT.

As you can see, the Polo MPI offers the least mileage figures of 17.75 kmpl. In comparison, its TSI engine offers more mileage and even more power, with the option of an AT as well. However, TSI variant will be tad costlier than the regular ones.

Moving on, Swift is the most fuel efficient car in this segment offering 21.2 kmpl, as claimed by ARAI. The Grand i10 Nios is second in line offering 20.7 kmpl. Both of them get the same engine capacities, offer very similar power figures along with same choice of gearbox options.

Lastly, we have the Ford Figo which is the second most powerful in this segment and also in the completel hatchback class. With its 1.2 Litre three-cylinder unit, it produces 95 BHP and offers an efficiency of 18.5 kmpl. This is just a bit better than Polo TSI.
